GCC Ambassadors in Geneva hold meeting

Geneva, Sep.30 (BNA): The Council of GCC Ambassadors in Geneva today held its regular meeting under the chairmanship of Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in Geneva Ambassador Dr. Yousef Abdul Karim Bucheeri at the headquarters of the Gulf Cooperation Council mission. The GCC ambassadors met for consultation, coordination and follow-up of the work of the 48th session of the Council Human Rights, being held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva from September 13 to October 8, 2021, and to look into the appropriate common positions regarding the draft resolutions that would be adopted at the end of the session. The ambassadors also discussed the intended participation of the GCC countries in a number of upcoming events that would take place during in October in Geneva. These events include the work of the General Assembly of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Executive Committee on Refugees, and the 15th conference of the United Nations Trade and Development Organization (UNCTAD) in addition to coordinating joint Gulf positions on a number of important issues on the agenda of multilateral action.
