26 Earthquakes, Maximum One 4.2 Degrees Recorded in Yanbu During

Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, May 17, SPA--The National Center for Earthquakes
and Volcanoes, an affiliate of Saudi Geological Survey, has recorded
26 earthquakes, the maximum one 4.23 degrees, in Harrat Al-Shaqah in
the Center of Al-Ruwaidat and Al-Hadmah in Yanbu during 24 hours from
Saturday, 9.00 a.m. until Sunday 9.00 a.m.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Commander of Civil
Defense Force at Al-Ais Center Colonel Zuhair bin Ahmed Hashim Sabieh
said that following the earthquakes, the Center's Operation Room has
received 32 notifications reporting that they have felt the tremors.
He noted that the teams of Geological Survey of the Civil
Defense Force have made a survey of Harrat Al-Shaqah to be sure that
there is no need to deal with any case.
