Public Security Chief chairs GCC committee meeting

Manama, Oct.3 (BNA): Chief of Public Security Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan has chaired an online meeting of the GCC anti-corruption ministerial committee. The event was attended by heads of integrity protection and anti-corruption authorities in the region. Lt-Gen. Al Hassan delivered a speech, in which he valued the Gulf efforts in fighting corruption and reinforcement of awareness. He hailed the dedication of the committee members to achieve the goals of Their Majesties and Highnesses Gulf leaders. He highlighted that the COVID-19 pandemic had imposed major challenges in the fight against corruption. He urged for the continuation of efforts to promote transparency and integrity.m adding that challenges could be overcome through joint efforts and strategic vision to promote integrity framework. Lt-Gen. Al Hassan conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Nasser bin Hilal Al Mawali, Chairman of the Omani State Audit Institution (SAI), who couldn’t attend the meeting because of the climatic conditions in Oman. He prayed for the safety of Oman’s leadership, government and citizens. The meeting reviewed topics related to GCC cooperation in integrity protection and anti-corruption.
