Yemen, WFP discuss cooperation ties
SANA'A, May 17 (Saba) -Yemen and the United Nations World Food Program (WFP)
discussed here on Sunday a number of issues related to cooperation ties between
them.
During the meeting between Minister of Planning and International Cooperation
Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi and WFP's Regional Director for the Middle East, Central Asia
and Eastern Europe Daly Belgasmi, the Minister praised contribution of WFP to Yemen.
The Minister also noted the significance of focusing on the promotion of WFP's
school feeding programmes as well as supporting Yemen's efforts to alleviate Somali
refugees sufferings.
Minister reviewed the overall challenges that face Yemen, topped by implications of
climate change and global rise in food prices, as well as activating WFP's effort's
to support Yemen in dealing with these challenges.
For his part, the WFP's Regional Director said that supporting Yemen comes within
the priorities of WFP to overcome all those challenges.
