Qatar's Mousa Shanan Qualifies to Doubles Quarterfinals in ITF World Tennis Tour

Doha, October 07 (QNA) - Qatar's Mousa Shanan qualified to the quarterfinals of doubles event at the first world tennis tour of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) organized by Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) in cooperation with ITF for a week with the participation of a group of young professional players from different countries. Shanan and his colleague Shahbaz Khan defeated the doubles of Kumran Nishuk and Santhi Lokommer by two sets to one and will meet in the quarter-finals scheduled Thursday with the doubles of Saqith Menini and Patrick Nicholas. This is the first round hosted by the QTF during the month of October, and two similar tournaments will follow in the next two weeks. Three Qatari players, Rashid Nawaf, Issa Shannan and Musa Shanan will participate in the main roles of the tournament after the Federation gave them invitation cards. Young players seek to participate in this category of competitions with the aim of winning additional points within the ATP, which will allow them to raise their global rankings and compete in higher-level tournaments in addition to the financial prizes allocated to them.
