FM Kazakbaev: China has become one of Kyrgyzstan's main trade and economic partners

Bishkek Humanitarian University named after Karasayev hosted on Friday an international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and China. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev attended the event and delivered a speech, the press service of the Kyrgyz MFA said. Ruslan Kazakbaev drew attention to the fact that in 2022 the sides will celebrate not only the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, but also the 20th anniversary of the treaty on good neighborliness, friendship and cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China. The minister emphasized that the Kyrgyz-Chinese relations are developing dynamically and are at an unprecedentedly high level in the history of bilateral cooperation. Kazakbaev pointed out that in the sphere of foreign economic relations for 30 years China has become one of the main trade and economic partners of Kyrgyzstan. “Due to the high level of bilateral relations, joint projects in the field of energy and transport have been successfully implemented, work on various stages of grant projects is ongoing, the negotiation process for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway within the One Belt, One Road initiative is underway,” the foreign minister of Kyrgyzstan added. He thanked the Chinese side for the support to the Kyrgyz Republic in combating COVID-19 pandemic and congratulated on the past Day of Formation of the People's Republic of China.
