French League to Take Six-Week Break for World Cup Qatar 2022

Paris, October 14 (QNA) - The French league announced on Wednesday that the French Ligue 1 will have a six-week break for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in November and December next season. The 2022/23 Ligue 1 season will start on the weekend of August 6 and will be suspended during the World Cup. It will stop on November 13 and resume on December 28. Qatar 2022, the first in the Middle East, will kick off November 21 and conclude on December 18, 2022. The French season will end on June 4, two weeks later than the end date of the current campaign.
