Vietnam, Laos build more border markers

(KPL) A ground-breaking ceremony for the planting of border marker 281 was held at the Ten Tan-Xom Vang border gate in central Thanh Hoa province and Huaphan province in Laos.
It was the first of 26 border markers that the two provinces have agreed to build in 2009 according to their joint programme on upgrading the border marker network.
Chu Pham Ngoc Hien, Standing Deputy Chairman of the Thanh Hoa People’s Committee and Head of the provincial border marker planting board, said that the move is expected to help the joint management of the border between Vietnam and Laos and turn it into a border of peace and friendship.
The Ten Tan-Xom Vang national border gate is one of the three border gates along the 192 km borderline shared by Thanh Hoa province in Vietnam and Huaphan province in Laos.
