Shura Chairman hails solid Bahraini-UAE relations

Manama, Oct. 20 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, has affirmed that the long-standing solid fraternal Bahraini-UAE relations are flourishing thanks to the constant support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and UAE President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. Al-Saleh expressed deep pride in the UAE’ honourable stances towards Bahrain, and its cooperation and integration with the kingdom across various fields, which contributes to achieving progress for the two brotherly countries and their peoples. While meeting here today the Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council (FNC), Saqr Ghubash, and his accompanying delegation, who are on an official visit to the kingdom, the Shura Chairman praised the two countries’ shared visions and constant keenness to further strengthen their relations, noting that the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between them in the health, education, cultural and commercial fields, among others, reflect the strength of bilateral ties. He affirmed that Bahrain’s Shura Council is proud of its solid relations with the UAE Federal National Council, noting that the two councils are keen to constantly enhance their constructive cooperation and unify their stances vis-à-vis various Arab issues at regional and Arab parliamentary gatherings. Al-Saleh lauded the role played by Saqr Ghubash, as Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union Speaker, in consolidating cooperation among Arab legislative councils. UAE FNC Speaker commended the efforts being exerted by the Shura Council Chairman and members to enhance joint GCC and Arab parliamentary action, citing their effective participation in parliamentary meetings, and keenness to submit constructive proposals aimed at developing parliamentary work at the GCC and Arab levels. He highlighted Bahrain’s distinguished participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, affirming that the two countries’ exemplary relations have reached the highest levels, and are progressing steadily to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, under their leaderships.
