Speaker holds discussion session with Kuwaiti counterpart

Manama, Oct. 21 (BNA): Speaker of the Representatives Council, Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, has affirmed the depth of historical fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait and their steady growth in various fields, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Emir of Kuwait, His Highness Prince Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah. This came during a discussion session between the Representatives Council Speaker and Kuwait’s National Assembly Speaker, Marzouq Al Ghanim. They spotlighted the latest regional and Arab developments and bilateral relations mainly in the parliamentary field. The discussion session was attended by First Deputy Speaker of the Representatives Council Abdulnabi Salman, Second Deputy Speaker Ali Ahmed Zayed, Chairman of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee Fadhel Abbas Al Sawad, Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee Ahmed Sabah Al Saloum, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Sisi Al Buainin, Chairman of the Public Amenities and Environment Committee Khalid Saleh Bu Onq, member of the Representatives Council Ali Ishaqi, the council’s Secretary General Chancellor Rashid Mohammed Bunajma and Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain Shaikh Thamer Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah. The Representatives Council Speaker underscored the council’s constant keenness to enhance coordination between the legislative branch and the GCC parliaments to support the GCC system and joint work. She also commended Kuwait’s honorable stances towards the Kingdom of Bahrain, praising the pioneering role of the State of Kuwait in supporting the GCC joint work, serving Arab and Islamic issues and promoting security and stability in the region and the world. For his part, the Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker lauded strong fraternal relations between the leaderships of both countries. He pointed out the National Assembly’s keenness to further promote relations between the two brotherly countries in the legislative and parliamentary fields. He thanked the Representatives Council Speaker for the gracious welcome and hospitality, wishing Bahrain and its people more growth and prosperity.
