NIHR President receives DCO Regional Director

Manama, Oct. 21 (BNA): President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, received today Regional Director for Arab States at the UN Development Coordination Office (DCO), Laila Bakr. He welcomed her and briefed her on NIHR work, goals and competencies incorporated in the law of its establishment. He highlighted the institution’s role in dealing with human rights issues in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Both sides discussed ways of boosting cooperation in training and exchange of expertise. Bakr congratulated Al Derazi on his appointment as President of NIHR Board of Commissioners, wishing him every success. She also underlined the role of the institution in promoting the culture of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
