Preparations Completed for Qatar International Handball Tournament

Doha, October 31 (QNA) - Qatar Handball Association has completed its preparations to host the 2021 Qatar International Handball Tournament for men, which will kick off Tuesday and will continue until November 6, with the participation of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iran. The tournament will be held within the framework of the program to prepare Qatar team to participate in the 20th edition of the Asian Men's Handball Championship which will be held in Saudi Arabia from January 18 to 31, 2022 and qualifies for the 28th IHF Men's World Championship scheduled in Poland and Sweden in 2023. The Saudi team will face Iran in the first match while the second match will bring together the Qatari team with its Kuwaiti counterpart. The Qatar Handball Association is keen to hold the tournament on a regular basis aiming to prepare the Qatari team. The tournament will be an opportunity for the Spanish coach Valero Rivera to check the technical and physical condition of the players before heading to Saudi Arabia to participate in the Asian Championship, where Qatar team will defend its title achieved in the past four editions, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2018 and 2020.
