Bahraini Permanent Representative in Geneva chairs GCC Ambassadors Council meeting

Geneva, Nov. 2 (BNA): The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in Geneva, HE. Ambassador Dr. Yousef Abdul Karim Bucheeri, chaired the periodic meeting of the GCC Council of Ambassadors in Geneva, which was held virtually today. During the meeting, the ambassadors reviewed the outcomes of the 48th session of the Human Rights Council, especially regarding priority issues for the GCC countries. The Council also recalled the unprecedented GCC diplomatic success in dealing with the Western draft resolution about human rights in the Republic of Yemen and the importance of the next stage of follow-up and monitoring of all positions and developments on this matter. The permanent delegates also discussed the issue of calling for the planned special session of the Human Rights Council to be held on the Republic of Sudan to coordinate the common Gulf position regarding it. The ambassadors also discussed the participation of the GCC countries in several upcoming entitlements during the month of November in Geneva, in particular the early preparation for the work of the 12th ministerial conference of the World Trade Organization, which will be held in Geneva from November 30 to December 3, 2021, as well as following-up and coordinating common positions on a number of important issues on the international scene in Geneva.
