Hadi attends consultative meeting in Aden

ADEN, May 19 (Saba)- Vice President Abduh Raboh Mansor Hadi attended
on Tuesday a consultative meeting for the local council and
executive offices and representatives of the civil society
organizations, social figures, politicians, sheikhs of Aden, Lahj
and Abyan governorates.

In the meeting, the vice president delivered a speech in which he
pointed out to the importance of the local councils as they reflect
principles of the 26th September and 14th October revolutions.

He affirmed that popular participation via these councils is a part
of making decision, saying that there are around 7600 members of
local councils.

The vice president added that any big achievements such unification
and democracy should follow with negatives which enemies are trying
to catch, and supporters who are improving positives and working to
tackle negatives.

He pointed out to the agreement reached with the Joint Meeting
Parties to delay parliamentary elections for two years in order to
insure participation of all political forcers in the elections.

It was scheduled to hold the elections on 27th April of 2009.

Hadi highlighted achievements taken place in the country in
framework of the unification and democracy, pointing out to press
freedom.

He called on members of the local councils to work hard to improve
their activities to avoid negatives.

The vice president also pointed out to the development projects in
the governorates, saying that implementation of Safar Gas Power
Station at capacity of 340 MGW would be started by next July.

He concluded his speech by affirming importance of coordination
between the local councils and executive offices for stability,
security and development
