World Military Parachute Jumping Championship (CISM) 2021 Begins

Doha, November 18 (QNA) - Under the patronage and presence of HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah, and President of the Qatar Olympic Committee HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, the 44th World Military Parachute Jumping Championship (CISM) was inaugurated, which will continue until Nov. 29. HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs announced the opening of the tournament, and Chairman of the supreme organizing committee and Commander of the Special Forces Brigadier General Jassim bin Ali Al Attiyah gave the opening speech of the tournament, followed by a speech by President of the International Military Sports Council (CISM) Brigadier General Herve Piccirillo. Afterwards the competition's flag was raised, an air show by the Amiri Air Forces and planes from Al Zaeem Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Attiyah Air College was performed, in addition to a parading the Special Forces' different brigades and the equipment prepared to support them in the internal security operations for the World Cup 2022. The opening ceremony was attended by a number of ranking officers at the Qatari Armed Forces, in addition to heads of the delegations participating in the competition. (QNA)
