Seoul stocks up 0.04 pct in late morning
SEOUL, May 20 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks were 0.04 percent higher late Wednesday morning after they traded in a tight range amid the absence of market-moving leads, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) added 0.61 point to
1,428.82 as of 11:20 a.m.
"The key index traded between small gains and losses as investors struggled to
find a direction, but a lack of market-leading events prevented any significant
moves for the index," said Lee Joon-whan, an analyst at Hanwha Securities.
The local currency was trading at 1,253.6 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20
a.m., down 4.1 won from Tuesday's close.
