Rural people access to electricity

(KPL) More than 41,000 households in 511 villages throughout Khammouane province have been accessible to permanent electricity.
Head of Electricity Division of Khammouane, Mr. Soulin Phommasay said that, currently the installation of transmission lines work throughout the province has been achieved. However over 20,000 households in 292 villages, Khammouane province still stays in dark for years.
Mr. Soulin confirmed the expansion of electricity network access to these rural areas will be achieved by 70 per cent next year and to be achieved by 80 per cent in 2015. Presently the installation is underway.
This work is one out of many development activities are strongly contributing to socio-economic development and poverty reduction programme.
In addition, the province continued to promote foreign investment on electricity extension and hydropower development.
