FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021: Saudi Arabia to Face Jordan

Doha, November 30 (QNA) - Saudi Arabia and Jordan will face each other’s on Wednesday at the Education City Stadium in Group C in the 10th edition of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, which started today and will continue until Dec. 18, with the participation of 16 teams under the supervision of FIFA. The Saudi team is looking forward to continuing its strong performances as it topped Group B in the Asian qualifiers with 16 points, four points ahead of its closest competitor, Japan, to go a long way towards reaching the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The Saudi team has a long history in the Arab Cup, as it is the second most successful team in the championship. The Saudi team won the cup twice, behind Iraq, which was crowned on four previous occasions, and the last participation of the Saudi team in FIFA Arab Cup dates back to the 9th edition which was held in the cities of Jeddah and Taif in 2012. In Group C, which includes Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Palestine, chances are strongest for Morocco and Saudi Arabia, while Jordan and Palestine have a chance to surprise all. The FIFA Arab Cup which kicked off today, will witness four consecutive matches in different stadiums. Tunisia faced Mauritania at Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium, Iraq will face Oman at Al Janoub Stadium, Qatar will face Bahrain in the official opening of Al Bayt Stadium, and the UAE will face Syria in the official opening of 974 Stadium.
