FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021: Lebanon's Technical Director Praises Organization of the Competition

Doha, November 30 (QNA) - The Lebanese national team's technical director Youssef Mohammed said that his team is ready to compete at the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, which began today and will conclude on Dec. 18. The competition is held under the FIFA umbrella, and has 16 teams participating. The Lebanese team's technical director told Qatar News Agency that they want to start positively to gain momentum in the competition. He highlighted that the presence of Algeria and Egypt in their group is a challenge, but that they are boosted by the fact that the two teams are missing stars Riyad Mahrez and Mohammed Salah respectively. He said that the State of Qatar considered the Arab Cup a good rehearsal with less than a year before hosting the World Cup 2022. He added that the country was able to make great efforts in its bid to host a distinguished World Cup event. He called on Arab teams to learn from the Qatari footballing experience which culminated in building a team that won the Asia Cup 2019 after years of implementing the plan placed by Qatar Football Association.
