LIVERPOOL TO PLAY THAILAND ON JULY 22

BANGKOK, May 20 (Bernama) -- Liverpool fans in the region, including in
Malaysia can look forward to meeting stars like Steven Gerrard and Fernando
Torres in action when the former European Cup Champions play Thailand in
Bangkok, on July 22 during their Southeast Asia tour.
Tickets priced at 600 baht (US$18), 1,350 baht (US$39), 1,750 baht (US$51)
and 3,000 baht (US$87) are expected to go on sale by Friday.
A Profitable Group spokesperson here said that 48,000 tickets would be put
up for sale for the match that would be played at the Rajamangala Stadium in
Bangkok at 8pm.
Strategic Sports Investment, part of the Profitable Group, are bringing
Liverpool on their Southeast Asia tour where they are scheduled to play in
Bangkok and four days later in Singapore.
Tickets in Singapore are priced between S$88 (US$60) and $188 (US$129).
The spokesperson said more details about ticket prices and outlets could be
viewed at the company's website, www.profitablegroup.com.
The most successful team in England, managed by Rafael Benitez, will fly
direct from their off-season training camp in Switzerland, to play the two
matches that will be part of their preparation for the new season which starts
in August.
With one more match to go, Liverpool remain second in the English Premier
League standing but the title had already been won by Manchester United who are
scheduled to play against Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur on July 18.
Liverpool, 18-time English league champions, who had played here in 2001 and
2003, will play the Thai national team coached by former England and Everton
player, Peter Reid.
