Speaker meets her counterparts in IPU meetings

Madrid, Nov. 30 (BNA): Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal met Uzbekistan Senate Chairwoman Tanzila Norbaeva, Georgia Parliament Speaker Kakha Kuchava, Zimbabwe National Assembly Speaker Jacob Mudenda, Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) President Duarte Pacheco, IPU former President Gabriela Cuevas Barron and IPU Secretary General Martin Chungong during her participation in the 143rd Assembly of the IPU. The meeting discussed ways to enhance joint parliamentary action and stressed the keenness of the legislative branch in Bahrain to cooperate with various parliaments across the world. She affirmed the importance of building legislative partnerships and strengthening parliamentary relations with other countries and highlighted the Kingdom’s status at the Arab, regional and international levels under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
