Bahrain Permanent Representative to UN participates in WTO event

Geneva, Dec. 3 (BNA): The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations and the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, HE Ambassador Dr. Yusuf AbdulKarim Bucheeri, participated in a historic event marking the conclusion of negotiations on the initiative to regulate domestic services in the World Trade Organization, marking the first result of services in the organization since 1997. HE Ambassador Bucheeri delivered a national statement in which he thanked the sponsors of the initiative, highlighting the importance of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s recent accession, which aims to mitigate the restrictive effects of trade. He expressed the Kingdom’s full support to the adoption of the declaration on the conclusion of negotiations related to local regulations for services, and related controls, aimed primarily at mitigating the trade-restrictive effects that negatively affect trade in services. He noted that the Kingdom is following with interest the expected positive results.
