NSSA participates in NSGIC workshops

Manama, Dec. 5 (BNA): The National Space Science Agency (NSSA) CEO Dr. Mohammad Ibrahim Al Aseeri participated in the National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC) workshops among 80 participants from different countries.
The workshops focused on the importance of exploiting artificial intelligence (AI) as one of the main tools in completing geospatial analytical studies, Low Earth orbits and aerial photography.
“NSSA’s participation contributes in strengthening national capabilities by benefiting from the expertise of the council and improving the use and sharing of geospatial data and GIS mapping tools,” NSSA CEO said.
“Its purpose is to promote effective and efficient geo-information in the government to ensure that information can be combined with all government’s organizations on all levels.”
Dr. Al Aseeri explained that the NSGIC is working to promote smart maps and databases to enable decision makers in the public and private sectors to make informed decisions in a relatively short time for a wide range of fields.
It also supports the national spatial data infrastructure and sets standards for handling location data.
