Speaker hails HM King support for Human Rights in Bahrain

Manama, Dec. 9 (BNA): Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal affirmed that human rights is an authentic culture in the Bahraini society, a law that is respected, and a well-established practice, praising the care and attention of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in supporting and developing the field of human rights in the Kingdom and civilized human rights initiatives at regional and international levels. The speaker confirmed that the government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has been able to occupy advanced positions globally in the fields of human rights, freedom, democracy and tolerance. She said, in celebration of the International Human Rights Day, that the international rankings that the Kingdom has obtained, came as a result of Bahrain’s democracy and the comprehensive development process of HM the King under the rule of law, respect for the constitution and the National Action Charter (NAC), the establishment of many civil society associations and institutions working in the field of human rights, the modern and civilized legal and legislative system that stems from the authentic Bahraini culture. Zainal noted the human rights achievements that came about from the royal directives, like the establishment of the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence, and the inauguration of the King Hamad Chair for Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence at Sapienza University in Rome.
