Martyrs of duty pride of nation

Manama, Dec. 16 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal paid tribute to the martyrs who fell in line of duty, describing them as the pride of the nation. She affirmed that the Commemoration Day is an opportunity to pay homage to those who sacrificed their life for the sake of the country as well as the Arab and Islamic nation. The Representatives Council Speaker paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his directives to observe the Commemoration Day on December 17 every year and to set up the Royal Fund for Martyrs of Duty, under the presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. She also commended the support and care accorded by HM the King to the martyrs’ families and children. The Representatives Council Speaker asserted that the royal directives to mark the Commemoration Day on the same date of HM’s accession to the throne anniversary embodies the high status given to the martyrs of duty. She also emphasised the parliamentary support to the martyrs’ families, stressing that the Kingdom of Bahrain will never forget those who sacrificed their life in defending the nation.
