HM King receives Speaker, Shura Chairman

Manama, Dec. 16 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received the Speaker of the Council of Representatives Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, the Chairman of the Shura (Consultative) Council Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, and their deputies. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, was present at the meeting. Zainal, Al Saleh and their deputies congratulated HM King Hamad on the kingdom’s National Days, in commemoration of the establishment of the modern Bahraini State as an Arab and Muslim state, founded by Ahmed Al Fateh in 1783, and the anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne. They wished HM the King health and happiness and Bahrain and its people further progress and prosperity. They commended the Kingdom's comprehensive achievements under the wise leadership of His Majesty in all fields, and the prestigious standing it has reached among nations thanks to HM’s wise policies. HM King Hamad congratulated them on the auspicious occasion of the National Days and thanked them for their wishes and noble sentiments. HM the King expressed his appreciation of the dedicated efforts exerted by the Speaker, the Shura Chairman and their deputies in the service of the nation and the people. HM King Hamad stressed his pride in the pivotal role of the legislative branch in elevating the prospects for national action, strengthening the democratic process, defending the higher interests of the Kingdom and endeavoring to fulfill the aspirations of its citizens. HM the King praised the constructive cooperation between the two branches to continue the nation's progress towards further development and advancement. HM lauded the good contributions of the people of Bahrain and the dedication of national competencies in the service of the Kingdom and the protection of its achievements.
