Speaker holds meeting with Arab League Secretary General

Cairo, Dec. 23 (BNA): Arab League Secretary General, Ahmed Abul Gheit, has affirmed that the Bahraini diplomacy, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, is the main pillar of Pan-Arab work. He commended HM the King’s efforts to maximise the collective Arab interests and support the Arab League’s efforts to serve Arab issues and promote regional and international security, Stability and welfare. The Arab League Secretary General praised Bahrain’s pioneering role to foster international relations and highlight the civilisational initiatives under the comprehensive development march led by HM the King. This came during a meeting between Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal and Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit, which was held in the presence of the accompanying parliamentary delegation. Discussions focused on ways of boosting relations between the Representatives Council and the Arab League. Both sides also discussed issues of common concern and ways of promoting coordination between the Arab League and parliamentary diplomacy to serve regional and Arab issues. The Representatives Council Speaker underlined the kingdom’s support to joint Arab work regarding various issues and challenges, and to achieve the aspirations of the Arab nations for more stability and prosperity. She expressed appreciation of HM the King and the Kingdom of Bahrain for the distinguished efforts made by the Arab League Secretary General to boost pan-Arab work.
