Terrorism, piracy, trafficking ' undermining Yemen'

SANA'A, May 21 (Saba) - Cross-border terrorism, piracy and the
trafficking of human and drugs are deemed major threats to Yemen's
interests and national security, Foreign Minister has said.

Abu Bakr al-Qirbi, in a seminar on mobilization of resources to
activate the Yemeni foreign policy which was organized by the Saba
Center for Strategic Studies, said a regional coordination is
required to face these threats.

The Yemen foreign policy is continuously evaluated to adapt it to
internal, regional and international changes, he said, pointing to
the accomplishments of Yemen related to settling its disputes with
neighbors over border demarcation.

For his part, director of the organizer center Ahmed Abdul Karim
al-Masabi underlined the importance of directing the Yemeni foreign
policy to serve the nation's interests.

He said when Yemeni diplomats must take into account that foreign
policy should focus on developing the Yemeni people and improving
their living conditions.

Hence, establishing a regional environment that relies on the
balance between national and regional interests, he said.
