Bahrain-EU cooperation in higher education discussed

Manama, Jan. 6 (BNA): Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council and Deputy Chairperson of its Board of Trustees, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bint Daij Al Khalifa, today received the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the European Parliament, David McAllister, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Head of the Convoy of Honour, MP Abdulla Khalifa Al-Thawadi. Dr. Shaikha Rana lauded the depth of relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union, stressing the importance of such visits in bolstering joint cooperation and achieving common interests. She underlined the kingdom’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the European Union in the fields of higher education, academic research and exchange of scientific expertise so as to contribute to boosting the comprehensive development march and benefit the two sides. David McAllister expressed pleasure at visiting the kingdom and meeting senior officials. He highlighted the distinguished relations between Bahrain and the European Union, affirming the latter’s keenness to continue cooperation with the kingdom at all levels, especially in the field of education. The two sides discussed ways to develop cooperation between Bahrain and the European Union, and exchanged points of view regarding topics related to higher education and academic research.
