M'SIAN PM LIKELY TO ANNOUNCE NEW POLICIES AT CONFERENCE

KUALA LUMPUR, May 22 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak is
likely to unveil new business and investment policies to generate growth at the
Invest Malaysia 2009.

Malaysia's Stock Exchange chief executive officer, Yusli Mohamed Yusoff,
said the government had in the past used the investment conference as a platform
to announce new key policies affecting the capital markets.

"We expect the possibility again," he told a media briefing on the
conference here Friday.

Also present was CIMB Group's chief executive, Nazir Razak.

The June 30-July 1 conference, held in collaboration with CIMB Investment
Bank, will showcase key opportunities available in Malaysia to institutional
investors and fund managers.

This year's theme will focus on the country's growth-drivers.

Nazir said the conference this year would have the most impact.
"The prime minister will set the tone with the opening address and will
outline the agenda for capital markets," he said.

He said both foreign and local fund managers had expressed strong
interest in the conference despite the ongoing global economic crisis.

Invest Malaysia, which made its debut in 2005, aims to attract foreign and
local institutional investors, fund managers and analysts and give them the
opportunity to meet the key personalities involved in Malaysia's growth story.

This year's instalment, the fifth in the series, aims to attract about 600
delegates. It is by invitation only.
