Winners of QNB Stars League's Best for December-& January 2022 Announced

Doha, February 03 (QNA) - Qatari Wesam Rizik of Umm Salal has been named as the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars Leagues Best Coach for the months of December, 2021, & January, 2022, according to STATS, the official statistics and figures provider for the Qatar Stars League.
Under Wesam who succeeded Brazilian Sergio Farias, Umm Salal played seven matches (Weeks 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16). The Orange Fortress won five of them, drew one and lost one to collect 16 points.
During the period, Umm Salal scored 18 goals while conceding seven and they had 36 shots on target. Wesams wards are now a creditable fifth in the QNB Stars League table with 25 points after 16 rounds of action.
Wesam is one of the young and promising Qatari coaches, and a former star of the Qatar national team who played for several clubs, including Qatar SC, Al Sadd and Al Khor.
For his part, Al Sadd and Qatar national team star Akram Afif has been named as the QNB Stars Leagues Best Player for the months of December, 2021, & January, 2022.
Akram scored as many as nine goals and gave four assists from five matches in Weeks 10, 11, 12, 15 and 16 of the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League. He spent a total of 469 minutes on the pitch.
The ace forward played a key role for his team as reigning champions Al Sadd stayed on top of the QNB Stars League table with 40 points after 14 rounds of action, six points more than closest challengers Al Duhail.
The technical analysis of Akram released by STATS, the official statistics and figures provider for the QNB Stars League, showed he scored all nine of his goals from inside the box.
Homam Al Ameen of Al Gharafa has been adjudged the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars Leagues Best Under-23 Player for the months of December, 2021, & January, 2022.
Homam, one of the key players of Al Gharafa and the Qatar national team, has been playing a vital role in the teams Italian coach Andrea Stramaccioni's scheme of things.
He played in Al Gharafas all seven matches (Weeks 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16) during the period, spending a total of 690 minutes on the pitch, according to STATS, the official statistics and figures provider for the QNB Stars League. He scored two goals and Al Gharafa collected 11 points (three wins, two draws and as many defeats). (QNA)
