Cairo, Feb. 19 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, has affirmed that the firm approach of the Kingdom of Bahrain is based on supporting all forms of joint Arab cooperation and solidarity, as reflected in His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision on backing all efforts aimed at enhancing joint Arab action to safeguard Arab countries’ security and stability. He underlined the kingdom’s keenness to develop relations and exchange expertise with Arab countries, as well as coordinate Arab stances at all international gatherings. Al-Saleh made the statements while addressing the Arab Parliament’s Fourth Conference of heads of the Arab Councils and parliaments, held today at the premises of the Arab League. A delegation from the Shura Council, led by Chairman Al-Saleh, took part in the conference. The Shura Chairman stressed the importance of achieving security, peace and stability, which is the main focus of the conference, noting that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, backs all efforts aimed at the strengthening the pillars of security and peace across the region, in light of the challenges facing the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries due to the continuous foreign interference aimed at subverting their security, stability and national gains. He strongly condemned and denounced the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, calling for concerted Arab efforts to reach a comprehensive solution to the Yemeni crisis, in accordance with the relevant references, in a way that would preserve Yemen’s unity, sovereignty and independence, as well as put an end to interference in its domestic affairs. Al-Saleh called for broadening the frameworks of Arab solidarity, enhancing cooperation in all political issues and coming up with unified stances that would safeguard all Arab countries’ security, stability and prosperity, stressing the importance of confirming Arab stances vis-à-vis various issues of common interest, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause and full support for the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights of establishing their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution and based on the Arab Peace Initiative and the relevant international legitimacy’s resolutions. He indicated that the political and economic challenges currently witnessed by the Arab region require comprehensive and sustainable solutions that would achieve the interests of Arab countries, noting that Arab countries are looking forward to the Arab Summit, set to be held in Algeria. He asserted that the Arab Parliament’s Fourth Conference of heads of the Arab Councils and parliaments confirms the importance of boosting Arab parliamentary diplomacy so as to deepen fruitful cooperation among Arab parliaments. Al-Saleh expressed thanks and appreciation to the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoomi, for the tremendous efforts he is making to strengthen Arab parliamentary relations.
