BACA President receives Japanese ambassador

Manama, Feb. 24 (BNA): President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, received in her office today Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Miyamoto Masayuki, who was accompanied by Dr. Akinori Uesugi, a specialist in ancient civilisations and excavation at Kanazawa University, Japan. They discussed means of boosting cultural cooperation between the two friendly countries and the outcome of the excavations of the Japanese delegation in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in cooperation with BACA, which began in 2015 in Wadi Al Sail to survey and excavate Dilmum sites in the kingdom. Both sides underlined the importance of training the Bahraini cadres on excavation, pointing out the significance of cooperation with the Manama-based Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARC-WH).
