Bahraini Ambassador attends reception hosted by UK House of Commons Speaker

London, Mar. 1 (BNA): The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Kingdom, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, attended the reception hosted by Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the UK House of Commons, for a number of Ambassadors accredited to the friendly United Kingdom and parliamentarians, at the Palace of Westminster in London. During the reception, Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle delivered a welcoming speech in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the ambassadors, and briefed them on the latest developments in the British parliament, as well as reviewing the latest regional and international developments of common interest. The attendees also toured the facilities and parts of the Palace of Westminster, and were briefed on the ancient history of the palace, whose inauguration dates back to the year 1808 AD, and the process of reconstructing it in 1859 AD after it was damaged by the fire that ravaged the UK Parliament in 1834 AD.
