FIM President Praises Qatar MotoGP Grand Prix

Doha, March 06 (QNA) - President of the International Motorcycle Federation, (FIM) Jorge Viegas praised the distinguished organization of the Qatar Grand Prix, the first round of the MotoGP World Championship, which lasted for three days under the floodlights at the Losail International Circuit. In a press statement on the sidelines of the closing day, Viegas said that the Qatar Grand Prix was successful, both in organizational and technical terms, and it is not strange for the Qatar Federation, which is hosting this tour for the twentieth time. He added that the successes achieved by Qatar in hosting the world's most prominent motorcycle championships made it a distinguished sports destination and a magnet for athletes, not only in cycling, but in various sports. The President of the International Federation stated that the twentieth edition of the Qatar Grand Prix appeared in a distinctive way, especially with regard to the arrangements and facilities for the teams and riders, which made the technical competitions come out strong. Viegas indicated that there is great coordination between the International and Qatar Federations in order to discuss more cooperation and plans to develop the circuit and the upcoming championships, and in this regard, the Qatar Federation will construct a new tower for racing. At the end of his statement, Viegas praised the young Qatari cyclist Hamad Al Sahouti, who achieved second place in the Asian Talent Cup race and the great development that appeared on him, considering that he is a champion project for the future, and that he is one of the distinguished riders in Asia who will have a great place in the future, but he needs more care and attention to reach the world level.
