Aman Center Launches Women Empowerment Award

Doha, March 07 (QNA) - The Center for Protection and Social Rehabilitation (Aman) announced its launch of an award supportive to the empowerment of women in the State of Qatar on the occasion of the International Women's Day which falls on March 8 of each year.
The center said in a press conference held today on the occasion that the award which carries the name of "Women Award" will be divided into four areas: the best active woman in the field of women's empowerment, the best project to serve women, the best institution that supports women's empowerment, and the best volunteer in the Aman Friends Club.
The center explained that the launch of the award aims to encourage women to play effective and influential societal roles, recognize the role of distinguished women in the society to encourage them to achieve more, and to encourage institutions and companies to empower women through legislations and laws that achieve equality and justice for them, and raise the level of effective participation in the Aman Friends Club.
The center opens the doors for nomination for the award in its various fields annually from April 1 to October 1, provided that winners will be announced at the end of the following December in a ceremony to be organized on the occasion.
The nominee for the award is required to complete the nomination form (electronically) and attach all documents, send two letters of recommendation from two different parties related to his field of activity (individuals or institutions) and conduct an interview with the jury. Those affiliated with the Qatar Foundation for Social Work or its affiliates are not entitled to run for the award.
During the press conference, Abdulaziz Al Ishaq, Executive Director of the Center for Protection and Social Rehabilitation, stressed the importance of the award in encouraging women to play a greater role in empowering women. He explained that the award is similar to many other awards in the country that encourage creativity and innovation, whether in institutional, media or other fields, adding that the award will range in value between financial and discretionary.
During the press conference, Aman Center honored four sectors operating in the country for their great efforts in combating the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. The center honored Alyaa Saleh Al Hedaifi for the educational sector; Alyaa Hassan Al Kuwari for the health sector; Sheikha Sutan Al Mannai for the media sector; and Fakhriya Ali Al Tamimi for the social sector.
