/IWD/ Minister of Social Development and Family to QNA: Qatar Expands Women's Participation Options, Takes Care of Equality, Empowerment Issues

Doha, March 08 (QNA) - HE Minister of Social Development and Family Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad affirmed that the State of Qatar has expanded participation options for Qatari women and paid special attention to issues of equality, empowerment and equal opportunities within the framework of Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030) and associated development strategies.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of International Women's Day (IWD) corresponding to March 8, Her Excellency said that the State of Qatar has achieved advanced indicators in the rates of development at the global level, which is a development characterized by inclusiveness, balance, fairness, and justice, as its goal is human, and the responsibility to achieve it also calls for a joint effort by women and men, which is confirmed by QNV 2030 and the associated development plans and strategies.
QNV 2030 expanded the options for women's participation in various fields of development, and paid great attention to issues of empowerment, capacity-building and the provision of decent work, with options that allow women to harmonize their roles in the family and public life, as well as strengthening the social protection system, HE added.
She stressed that in the context of strengthening QNV 2030 with its various pillars, the country's wise leadership was keen to establish the Ministry of Social Development and Family to work on promoting equal opportunities and advancing the social field within the second pillar of the 'social development,' and setting the relevant programs, plans, and policies, which promotes policies related to women's empowerment and enhances their role in society.
Her Excellency concluded her statement by saying that Qatari women are men's partners in the renaissance that the country is witnessing in various fields, and all efforts are combined for its stability, progress, and prosperity, as we live in a society that recognizes the leading role of women and trusts in their capabilities, calling every woman to work and achieve more, and to take advantage of the available opportunities and the enormous potential provided by the State to empower women and advance their role.
Today, all countries of the world celebrate IWD, which falls on March 8 each year, in appreciation and support for women's efforts and their role in various public spheres and to support them wherever they are.
This years celebration comes under the theme 'Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow,' in recognition of the contributions of women and girls around the world in leading the adaptation, mitigation, and response to climate change to build a more sustainable future for all. (QNA)
