Seoul stocks open weaker on institutional selling
SEOUL, May 26 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks started lower Tuesday, dented by
heavy institutional selling, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stocks Price Index (KOSPI) shed 3.45 points, or
0.25 percent, to 1,397.45 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
Electronics and steel makers led the overall market loss, weighed down by selling
among institutional investors.
The local currency was trading at 1,254.85 won to the U.S. dollar as of 9:15
a.m., down 6.35 won from Monday's close.
