Al-Raya, The Peninsula Praise Qatar's Role as Pioneer in Global Diplomacy, Honest Mediator
Doha, March 14 (QNA) - Daily newspapers Al-Raya and the Peninsula praised in their Monday editorials the role played by the State of Qatar as a pioneer in global peace and diplomacy through mediation, activating diplomatic channels and bringing views together in order to enhance international peace and stability.
The two papers stressed that by hosting the Chadian dialogue, Qatar has the interest and future of the Chadian people in mind, by conducting negotiations without interference by imposing its interests, or influencing the position of one of the parties, whether on the military council or the armed movements.
Al-Raya said that Qatar pursues dialogue and diplomacy as the only way to solve crises, as every crisis can be resolved by mediation and gathering the conflicting parties at the negotiation table. Qatar, based on its good relations with Chad and hopes that it will continue and develop at various levels and in the interest of its brotherly people, did not hesitate to accept the invitation to host these negotiations, the paper added.
The newspaper pointed out that the Chadians and the whole world have high hopes for these negotiations to end the conflict and to agree on building a Chad that accommodates all its people, without excluding any party.
The people of Chad deserve to enjoy peace, security, stability, development and prosperity, and therefore every effort must be made to achieve these goals for the benefit of this generation and generations after, Al-Raya underlined.
Qatar calls on the Chadians to put the national interest above all interests, to place consensus and reconciliation as a priority above all priorities, and to be wise and realistic, for political and security stability is a prerequisite in view of the interrelationship between the factors of security, peace, development and human rights, added the paper.
Al-Raya explained that the State of Qatar is betting on the Chadian parties awareness of the need to stay away from narrow private interests and to think about the future of the Chadian people, who deserve to enjoy security, stability and development.
Concluding, Al-Raya said that Qatar, as a pioneer of peace and diplomacy, has pledged that it will spare no effort in achieving peace and stability and building bridges through mediation, activating diplomatic channels and bringing views together will enhance international peace and stability, especially since Qatari diplomacy has made Doha a destination for those seeking security and stability in the world and Qatar has established its name as an honest and reliable international mediator.
In turn, the Peninsula newspaper stressed in its Monday editorial that the State of Qatar believes that diplomacy, negotiation and co-existence of fellow citizens of any country on the basis of mutual respect are the best ways to achieve lasting peace and stability. Therefore, it did not hesitate to accept the invitation of the Chadian people to host Chadian-Chadian negotiations, which kicked off in Doha on Sunday.
The newspaper said that the State of Qatar, after hosting many successful peace talks and negotiations that contributed to achieving security, stability and regional and international peace, will spare no effort to make the current intra-Chadian talks or inclusive national dialogue achieve its ultimate goal of establishing sustainable peace and stability for the people of Chad. Qatars hosting of the Chadian peace talks comes in line with the State of Qatars firm position in support of resolving crises through diplomatic means and dialogue.
The Peninsula stressed that Qatar will spare no effort in playing its role with its partners to achieve reconciliation between the Chadian parties, benefiting from its long experience and history of conflict-resolution between warring factions in various parts of the world.
The newspaper highlighted the assertion of HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi that the hopes of many are pinned on these negotiations and the people of Chad deserve to enjoy peace, security, stability, development and prosperity, therefore every effort must be made to achieve these goals for the benefit of this generation and future generations. Concluding, the Peninsula noted that Chad is facing major development challenges that require making every effort to move forward in the path of progress and prosperity, as political stability is a prerequisite for establishing lasting peace, security, development and protection of human rights.
