Over One Million Individuals In Malaysia, ASEAN Benefited From YSS Projects

KUALA LUMPUR, March 22 (Bernama) -- More than one million individuals in Malaysia and ASEAN have benefited from about 7,000 community projects organised by the Student Volunteers Foundation (YSS) since its establishment 10 years ago. Higher Education Minister, Dr Noraini Ahmad, who is also a YSS patron, said that to date, YSS had implemented 48 missions with 1,481 volunteer leaders emerging from ASEAN countries and China. “The goal of YSS establishment is to boost the spirit of volunteerism and solidarity among students, and promote world peace,” she said. She said this when officiating YSS’ 10th anniversary dinner on Monday. YSS was launched by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) on March 21, 2012, at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Selangor. -- BERNAMA
