The Peninsula Praises Strong Growth of Qatar's ICT Sector

Doha, March 25 (QNA) - The Peninsula highlighted the growth of Qatar's telecommunications sector, in its Friday editorial. The paper said that the sector is playing a crucial role in countrys growth and economic diversification, noting that the state invested heavily to have state-of-the-art telecommunications infrastructure in the country. The paper added that, thanks to the initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the e-commerce is growing rapidly in the country. It discussed the introduction of 'Theqa' program to e-traders and online shoppers. The ministry also held webinars to discuss the program's benefits in promoting the growth of e-commerce, raising credibility and trust in the Qatar e-market, besides, familiarizing the attendees with the principal objectives of the Theqa program and how to register for the first national Trustmark of e-commerce in Qatar.
