Al-Raya Praises ICAO's Decision Establishing Doha Flight Information Region

Doha, March 26 (QNA) - Al-Raya dedicated its Saturday editorial to the International Civil Aviation Organization's (ICAO) decision to establish the Doha Flight Information Region (FIR). The paper said that the decision enhances the State of Qatar's status, as it will enable the country to add new air routes and increase the capacity of the aircraft waiting area in the air, in addition to increasing the area of search and rescue according to the FIRs new dimensions, thus keeping pace with the development and achievements Qatars civil aviation is witnessing and based on the countrys clear right to achieve its own region. The paper highlighted that Qatar has been working to establish the Doha Flight Information Region (FIR) since 2018. The paper concluded by saying that the decision reflects the State of Qatar's commitment to being an active international player who strives to serve civil aviation worldwide by ensuring the aviation sector is safe, efficient, and sustainable.
