Doha Forum 2022/ Minister of Communications Highlights Qatar's Strong Communications Infrastructure

Doha, March 27 (QNA) - HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai said that Qatar's infrastructure maturity status has been reached, with world-class fiber and fifth generation (5G) networks.
HE the Minister of Communications and Information Technology was speaking today at a panel at Doha Forum 2022 titled "The Fourth Industrial Revolution: Challenges and Opportunities for a New Era", in participation with HE Minister of Information and Communications Technology of Rwanda Paula Ingabire; Founder and Executive Chairman of African Rainbow Minerals Dr. Patrice Motsepe; and HE UN Under-Secretary-General and Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme Achim Steiner. The panel was moderated by HE President of the World Economic Forum Borge Brende.
HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai said that Qatar's priority now is developing centric e-services for individuals and businesses, how to grow the existing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry utilizing the investments being done in infrastructure and ensure having the right legal and regulatory framework to attract investment and transform the country in a regional digital hub.
HE the Minister also pointed to the priority of reskilling the existing resources to coop with the emerging technology deployment to get ready for the fourth industrial revolution, noting that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has already established several flagship initiatives and will further collaborate with organizations to grow the ICT sector on all fronts.
It is worth mentioning that the discussions and panels of the Doha Forum this year focus on four core areas: Geopolitical Alliances and International Relations, Financial System and Economic Development, Defense, Cyber and Food Security, and Climate Change and Sustainability. (QNA)
