Doha Forum 2022/ President of Kosovo: Qatar Demonstrated Ability for Leadership and International Cooperation

Doha, March 27 (QNA) - HE President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani praised the role carried out by the State of Qatar at the international level, and highlighted the importance of Doha Forum which serves as a platform for discussion and dialogue on the different challenges facing the world. In a speech during the closing session of Doha Forum 2022 on Sunday, HE the President said that the State of Qatar has demonstrated the ability for leadership and international cooperation, despite its small size, and will bring the world together at the end of the year for sport. "This is a lesson for all of us that small countries can and should have an impact," she stressed. She emphasized the importance of Doha Forum as an international forum that provides the opportunity for small countries to make their voice heard to the world, adding: "Kosovo, as a small country, has an opportunity to participate in the forum and talk about the opportunities and challenges facing the whole world." She stressed the need to build multilateral partnerships and a global alignment to face the ever-growing challenges, noting that the theme of Doha Forum 2022 - Transforming for a New Era - comes at the right time amidst endless challenges in all parts of the world. "The time has come to unite our ranks and reconsider how to move forward," she said, stressing that "multilateralism and polarization have never been so important." "As we recover from the pandemic which constituted the biggest economic blow to the world since World War II, we, the leaders and policy makers, must find new ways of cooperation to get advantage from the existing international mechanisms and systems for the benefit of the peoples," HE the President added. HE the President of the Republic of Kosovo noted the "inspiring" discussions and ideas that were presented during the Doha Forum on the most pressing issues in the world, ranging from climate change to food insecurity, in addition to issues of sustainable economic development. She added that Doha Forum highlights the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and diversity. "I am confident that we are all convinced that we must interact with each other in order to find the best solutions to the challenges facing us." HE President Vjosa Osmani shed light on the challenges faced the people of Kosovo in the process of building their state, including the war they faced in the 1990s, praising the role of the international community that put an end to the war that killed and displaced millions "The unified international response through the international community spared the region more destruction, loss of life and genocide. This response is what our country needed and what the world needs to understand once again the power and importance of uniting our ranks and defending what is right." In this context, she called on the countries of the world to condemn the aggression against Ukraine, and said: "We must not ignore this aggression and this war in Europe," warning of the repercussions of this war and its bad consequences on the world. HE President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani also addressed the issue of climate change and called for a joint global action to confront this challenge. "This is a common danger that knows no borders, and addressing it requires a unified multilateral stand and an ambitious vision in order to move forward," she said. The two-day Doha Forum 2022, which was held under the theme "Transforming for a New Era", launched dialogue on the pressing challenges facing the world, amidst participation and attendance of a number of heads of states and governments, politicians, parliamentarians, thinkers and representatives of the media.
