TRAPPED SHARK RELEASED IN PALU GULF

Palu, Central Sulawesi, May 26 (ANTARA) - A dotted shark was released by local people in Palu Gulf after being caught in a fisherman's trap for four days since Saturday (May 23).

Local people tied a rope to the shark's tail and then tens of people dragged it from the trap. Later the shark was pushed past shallow waters into the ocean.

The shark was injured in its back due to the bamboo trap. Hundreds of people witnessed the shark's release.

The shark got stranded and entered the trap owned by a local fisherman, Djafar, at Tondo, East Palu, on Saturday night.

Djafar found the shark in his 100-m2 trap on Sunday morning
