TASS director general holds talks in Dubai on preparations for Global Media Congress

DUBAI, March 29. /TASS/. TASS Director General Sergey Mikhailov held talks with Mohamed Jalal Alrayssi, director general of the Emirates News Agency, also known as WAM, in Dubai on Tuesday to discuss cooperation between TASS and the agency and preparations for the Global Media Congress that will take place in Abu Dhabi from November 15-17 this year. Sergey Mikhailov during the talks reviewed plans by the news service to reinvigorate activities in the Arab world. TASS plans to open an office in Dubai soon, which will be in charge of covering events in the Persian Gulf countries. Sergey Mikhailov also said TASS is working on starting an Arab-language service, which will become an important contribution to the strengthening of ties among regional news services, bringing that cooperation to a new level. The TASS director general will take part in the World Government Summit that’s taking place at the Expo-2020 site in Dubai. The issues being discussed at the conference include problems faced by governments and determining the ways to resolve them. Read more
