Doha, March 30 (QNA) - Smart City Expo Doha 2022, organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in partnership with Fira de Barcelona, concluded today following participation of tech providers from 60 countries. Assistant Undersecretary of Digital Society Development at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Reem Mohammed Al Mansoori said that the second edition of the event was very successful, serving as a global forum for the participants to discuss sustainability-related solutions that will help the world's major cities face environmental challenges. She stressed that smart solutions will have a big impact in the State of Qatar, whether in terms of the provision of public digital services by governments and official bodies in countries, the transformation of vital national industries, or seed funding and support for innovative entrepreneurship. She added that Qatar seeks to consolidate a fully digital economic system, which will require institutional support in addition to huge investments and cooperation across all sectors. She added that such a transformation will also require preparation of national cadres and competencies capable of leading this journey. (QNA)
