Achievements Recorded in Growing Hothouse Vegetables in DPRK

Pyongyang, April 3 (KCNA) -- Agricultural officials and workers are growing hothouse vegetables on a scientific basis. The Jangchon Vegetable Cooperative Farm in Sadong District, Pyongyang is growing vegetables on a scientific and technical basis after the proper distribution of various vegetables. The vegetable greenhouse farm of Ryokpho District Cooperative Farm Management Committee is growing vegetables well, providing them with a good growing environment. Hothouse vegetable growing units in South Phyongan Province and Nampho City make the most of the ring-shaped rotation production system to cultivate cabbages, lettuces, etc. well. Vegetable greenhouse farms of the Migok Cooperative Farm in Sariwon City, North Hwanghae Province and the Yonthan County Cooperative Farm Management Committee carpeted fields with scores of tons of compost per hectare, introduced advanced vegetable-growing technologies and make effective use of the areas of the greenhouses in order to increase the output of vegetables. Vegetable greenhouse farms in South Hamgyong Province, Kaesong City, etc. are also growing vegetables well, waging the proactive campaigns in which one overtakes and learns from others and swaps experiences, and are organizing the work for phased cultivation, in conformity to their specific conditions. -0-
