Al-Raya Hails Medical Renaissance in Qatar

Doha, April 05 (QNA) - In its editorial Tuesday, Al-Raya newspaper hailed the renaissance achieved by the State of Qatar at the academic level by qualifying local medical cadres capable of leading the comprehensive medical renaissance, as well as through projects that included all health facilities. The paper stressed that the health sector is one of the most prominent sectors that the wise leadership has given great attention to within the framework of what the health renaissance represents as a main pillar to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030, which puts the human being at the top of its priorities. The newspaper pointed out that Qatar University announced its readiness to receive the first batch of students in the College of Nursing, which was opened for admission to male and female students for the fall semester 2022, pointing out that Vice President for Medical and Health Sciences has announced the preparation of the college's logistical plan and the facilitation of the transfer of a number of students from the University of Calgary in Qatar, who were accepted during the spring of 2022. He also announced that Qatar's new secondary stage students will be accepted in the fall of 2022, as the university seeks to attract the largest number Qatari students in line with the States vision to build national capacities, the paper added. The paper indicated that the State of Qatar places education at the top of its priorities with the aim of qualifying and preparing young Qatari generations to lead the country's future, fortified with science and knowledge, noting that Qatar University - which enjoys the care and attention of the leadership - contributed to presenting Qatari generations who worked with all their efforts to achieve the comprehensive development in the country across various fields. It also explained that medical sciences sector comes at the top of the national priorities, and for this reason, Qatar University expanded in medical and health specialties, as the health sciences sector in the university includes four colleges: the College of Medicine, the College of Dental Medicine, the College of Pharmacy and the College of Health Sciences, adding that the health sciences sector currently offers 18 programs with different degrees, making the sector the largest umbrella for health and medical specializations in the country. Qatar University, as it prepares to receive the new students, is proud that it has contributed to preparing generations of competencies who contributed with their efforts to building a free and dear homeland. In conclusion, Al-Raya said that the new College of Nursing is the fifth college within the health and medical sciences sector, as it was established with the aim of providing the community with world-class qualified nurses who are committed to providing health care in line with the national health strategy.
