Al-Watan Regrets International Silence, Failure to Hold Israeli Occupation Accountable

Doha, April 05 (QNA) - In its editorial Tuesday, Al-Watan newspaper expressed its deep regret over the failure of the international community to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its daily aggressions in the occupied Palestinian territories. On Monday, Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian farmers in the border lands east of Deir al-Balah city in central Gaza Strip, with bullets and tear gas canisters, to prevent them from reaching their agricultural lands, forcing them to leave their lands and return to their homes. Israeli occupation forces deliberately attack farmers in the agricultural lands' border in north and east of the Gaza Strip, the newspaper noted. The Israeli occupation forces arrested a Palestinian youth from Al Yamoun town west of Jenin, after raiding and searching his house, while confrontations erupted between the youths and the occupation forces, the paper said, adding that dozens of settlers stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Mughrabi Gate's side, under the protection of the Israeli occupation police, carried out provocative tours and performed Talmudic rituals in its squares, especially the eastern area, Al-Watan added. The newspaper referred to the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' confirmation that the Israeli occupation is shifting its open war on Jerusalem and its sanctities to very dangerous squares, because of its fear of the intensity of the Palestinian presence in Jerusalem during the holy month of Ramadan. The Israeli entity and its various bodies consider all aspects of celebrations, gatherings, or aspects of Jerusalem's social life as a form of challenge that it does not approve or accept, and so it is waging a war on the Palestinian presence in Jerusalem, Al-Watan said. The newspaper concluded by saying that the Israeli crimes fall within the framework of the Judaization of Jerusalem and the imposition of sovereignty over its Christian and Islamic sanctities, stressing that the international community is responsible for its silence and failure to translate its decisions into reality.
